That's why I don't like to gamble or when money is involved. You see some sides of your friends which you don't usually see. I don't carry a serious attitude in many things I do and I don't expect everyone to be like me. So there is a conflict.
I just had a mahjong session with some friends. 2 of which I knew for at least 8, 9 years. Heck, even knowing 10 years I am still kinda shocked at their reactions.
Sometimes they are so serious their words sting and they don't realise it themselves. I don't blame them though. But I wouldn't say things like that to them if I was the one losing out. I want to play with people who don't come with a "must-win" mentality. Seriously. If you wanna win, go find some other people. Each time I play, the base amount is the amount of money I'm prepared to lose. And if i lose it all I'm totally okay with it cos no one forced me to play. But sometimes why do people give that dulan attitude when they start losing? Then blame it on other people? I am not a pro and ya I may discard the wrong tiles which other average players may not. You can say I'm stupid. But if it were to your advantage, will you thank me for letting you win the game or will you still scold me stupid?
I don't mind people say I don't know how to play mahjong. I lose like 80% of the times I play and heck, as long as I can afford to lose I won't even complain. If anyone doesn't like to play with noobs, please turn down my invitation for a mahjong game next time round, but I highly doubt I'll even invite people to play again. Unless it's my own family where money isn't involved. I like to play games without anyone giving me a black face throughout.
